Where it all began….
The Francois Ferreira Academy has been providing quality, accredited training in Culinary Arts and Hospitality for the last 15 years in George. The Academy has a brand new state-of-the-art modern training kitchen, and staff that have a wealth of experience professionally and academically, which makes for an exceptionally strong team, lead by Principal Francois Ferreira, acclaimed chef and author. He is ably assisted by Vice Principal Denise Lindley, who has worked in industrial catering all her life. Both of them are members of the International Chaîne des Rôtisseurs and the South African Chefs Association.
The Mission of the FFA is to equip students with the essential skills, to be able to work efficiently and effectively in the hospitality industry as trained chefs and hotel managers.
What the Francois Ferreira Academy has to offer:
The courses are accredited with CATHSSETA, QCTO and City&Guilds. The duration of the courses vary, and the intake of new students occurs in January and June each year. Learners are continually assessed both on a practical and theoretical level during training

- The FFA 1 year Diploma in Culinary Skills
- The FFA 1 year in Confectionary and Patisserie
- The FFA Diploma in Food Preparation and Cooking (3 year)
- The FFA Assistant Chefs Course
- The FFA Distance Learning Course
- The FFA Foundation Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality

For all the passionate foodies out there, come and try the Public Cooking Classes to enhance culinary skills while having fun preparing new and interesting dishes. Each month the FFA present a different themed class and culinary experience. Youngsters are also accommodated with the Kids Public Cooking classes , especially designed to educate young aspiring chefs, between the ages of 10 and 17.
